Mannamead (3) v (2) Sidmouth
Sidmouth were edged out by the odd goal in 5 on a blustery but pulsating day at Stonehouse Barracks against an in-form 1st XI.
Sidmouth’s early endeavours were rewarded when a swift counter attack caught Mannamead cold. However this seemed only to stoke Mannamead’s fire of determination and desperation for three valuable points. Bassett revelling in her newly assigned left back role received a ball from veteran Cheryl Waterfield and proceeded to slash an intricate and incisive through ball to Charlotte Bates who instantly finished with considerable aplomb.
